Speech Language Pathology
Our certified Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs), in each of our member schools, are specialists with training in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of speech, voice, fluency and language disorders for individuals ages birth to 21 years. An important part of the SLPs work in our schools involves screenings, referrals, assessment/evaluation, consultation, diagnosis, treatment, intervention, management, collaboration, documentation, supervision of SLPAs (Speech Language Pathology Assistants) and support of students, their families and teachers on various speech disorders. Our SLPs also frequently coach families on treatment techniques to use in the home and how to modify behavior that impedes communication.
