Psychological Services
Children may find themselves with a number of issues that may affect their ability to perform in school and in life. These issues may involve poor school performance, problems socializing or getting along with others, behavioral problems, or may show as a variety of other problems such as extreme sadness, problems eating, hurting oneself, as just a few examples. It is the job of the Psychological Services to identify why this may be occurring and to help the individual overcome these problems or find them the appropriate help.
Psychological Services currently include cognitive, academic, behavioral, and other testing services. These assessments have a wide variety of uses including special education evaluations, parental requests, and subsequent placement or referrals for other agencies.
Previous consultations in the area schools have included strategies for bullying, discipline in general and with students who have behavioral problems, working with students who have personality disorders, and individual consultations.
If you have questions concerning services or would like to speak to someone more about what may be available for your needs, please contact your local school district.
